This is a wonderful Teak Dresser that dates from the late 50s or very early 60s. The Teak is exceptional with golden tints, as you would expect from an earlier Danish piece. This is a rather rare design from Ib Kofod-Larsen and it is not often found in the USA. Most of the references for this piece were from European sources.
This is a very high quality piece featuring quality built drawers and a stained back. The piece was created before the Danish started to use fiberboard so this item is Teak over solid wood. Take a close look at the photos that highlight the drawer sides. You will find that the top 1/3 of the drawer is a solid Teak board. The drawer pulls are cut into this board. The remainder of the drawer is Teak over solid boards. This was an expensive construction method and only the finest pieces of furniture would be built this way.
This is a fabulous dresser, from a world-renowned designer in excellent condition. There are no chips gouges or other damage, only slight signs of light use.
This dresser offers a huge amount of storage space in an elegant and graceful design. It is of the highest quality and from one of the finest cabinet makers in Denmark. This is a good candidate for anyone looking for a high end Danish dresser with a pedigree.
CONDITION: Very fine with only very slight signs of light use.
