Brazilian Rosewood & Leather High Back Lounge Chair By Hans Olsen for Vatne Mobler
This is a very fine example of the classic sculpted rosewood high back lounge chair & ottoman by Hans Olsen for Vatne. This fabulous Modernist chair dates to the 60s and is in excellant condition with wonderful black leather cushions and a nearly flawless Brazilian Rosewood frame.
I am selling the original matching ottoman with the chair to create a matched set. Both are in exceptional good condition. The original down filled cushions are very comfortable and while the leather is naturally wrinkled, there is no sign of cracking, holes, tears or other damage. This chair came in both low back and high back models. As I now have two low back chairs and feel they work best in my arrangement, I can now sell my high back chair & ottoman.
This is a very popular and desirable design from Hans Olsen who is probably best known for his circular dining table with matching chairs. If you have been looking for an iconic modernist lounge chair from a well know designer in fine, condition – look no further.
