This is an exceptional Danish Modern platform / floating bed in high quality Teak from Dyrlund of Denmark. This quality bed features a taller than normal headboard that has wonderful teak trim around it. The lines on this are graceful and simple, making it more desirable than some other designs. This piece was crafted by Dyrlund in Denmark and is a very well made and well documented product. If you know much about vintage Danish furniture you know that Dyrlund products are some of the higher quality products from the 60s and 70s. I sell more beds than any other dealer in the United States and can honestly say that this bed is of an excellent quality. 

One nice feature is that the headboard is taller than most similar designs (without integrated nightstands) which allows for a nice area of headboard to be seen even once a mattress, pillows and bedding are added. Most similar beds are only about 13″-14″ inches above the slats. Once mattress, pillows, and bedding are in place, the headboard can sometimes become difficult to see. This bed offers 22.5 inches from the top of the slats which should provide 8-10 inches of headboard above pillows and bedding. 

The lighter shaded area on the lower portion of the Head Board is simply where past mattress was. It will be impossible to see this once mattress and pillows are on the bed. 

Not having attached night stands allows for easier shipping and the ability to place the bed in areas with less wall space. In addition, you have the ability to choose any Danish modern nightstands that fit your needs. 

The quality of this item can be seen in the construction and materials used. This is simply a better product than most Danish platform beds. The overall condition is nearly perfect with only very slightest signs of wear. Nice solid construction and graceful modern design by a top-notch company – what more can you ask for?
