Danish Modern Brazilian Rosewood 8 Drawer Dresser From Kibaek of Denmark

You may not have heard much about the Kibaek furniture company from Denmark as their pieces were so expensive that they priced themselves out of the market many years ago. Kibaek pieces are the most durable and highest quality furnishings I have ever found. I rate the quality of Kibaek items higher than those from Dyrlund or even Torring. The cost of producing Kibaek furnishings resulted in a street price that was simply too high for the market to bear.

This is a fabulous set of six “Juliane” dining chairs designed by Johannes Andersen for Uldum. I have had several sets of these over the years and they are real stand outs due to their highly sculpted Teak frames and black leather seats. In my opinion, these are the one of Andersen’s most attractive dining chairs. They make a highly modern but still elegant statement at any dining table.

Black Leather & Jacaranda Lounge Chair By Jean Gillon For Italma of Brazil

We were very lucky to run across this rather rare, black leather and Jacaranda wood lounge chair and ottoman, designed by Jean Gillon for Italma. Gillon’s designs have always been sought after but modernist Brazilian designers seem to be gaining ground among collectors creating even more demand for his designs. This is an excellent example of his chair work and it is in near mint condition with the matching ottoman. Frankly, I find this particular model to be one of his more attractive designs.
