This is a fabulous and rather rare writing desk designed by Jack Cartwright for Founders furniture. While Founders was a subsidiary of Thomasville furniture (Top Quality American Furniture), the designs from Jack Cartwright draw heavily on the Danish traditions of the mid 20^th century. His work could easily fit into the catalogues of any major Danish Furniture company. In fact, this desk is very similar to the vintage Arne Vodder writing desk often seen for sale on the internet. Honestly, I have sold several of the Arne Vodder writing desks over the years and this is every bit as nice and possibly better.
